Dear Northside Intermediate Parents and Friends,

Welcome to Northside Intermediate School! We are truly excited to have you join our Northside family.

Northside Intermediate is rich in history, having been originally founded in 1929. We are located in the heart of the Historic District right next to the acclaimed “Monkey Park”. We serve over 460 students ranging from 3rd to 5th grades. 

Northside Intermediate School is proudly accredited and all of our teachers are fully certified in their respective areas of instruction. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing your child with the best educational experience possible. We focus on the whole child and want to nourish the leadership capabilities in all of our students. 

We strongly encourage your involvement in your child’s education, as a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and students creates the most supportive and successful learning environment. Please be sure to maintain regular contact with your child’s teacher. We also invite you to become actively involved by joining the Northside Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the Parent Advisory Committee.

We are a Title I school, offering schoolwide Title I services. Our Title I plan was developed by a committee appointed by the principal and is available for review in both the Front Office and the Media Center. Throughout the school year—and especially during the annual Title I meeting—information about the plan will be shared with parents. The plan is evaluated each year in the spring and fall using test data and survey results. These federally funded services are designed to support the academic success of all students.

The Parent Handbook provides important information about our school’s policies and procedures. We encourage you to refer to it regularly throughout the year.
